Even with Malenia’s difficulty, many Elden Ring players have found a way to cheese the boss. For the uninitiated, cheesing in regard to a FromSoftware title is when a player beats a boss using an unforeseen and “unfair” method. There are many ways that one can cheese, from luring a mounted enemy off a cliff, to using magic that just melts a boss’s HP bar. One Elden Ring player, known as Burgerroi on Reddit, has recently shown off the latter way to cheese, obliterating Malenia in her second phase with Faith magic.

With a Faith build, infinite FP, and Unendurable Frenzy, Burgerroi simply walks at Malenia while firing constant bursts of flame at her. The Elden Ring player takes a small amount of damage, but before long Malenia is constantly stunned with each hit as her health just melts away. According to Burgerroi, this combo is the Faith version of using infinite FP and the Comet Azur sorcery. Considering Comet Azur is a devastating sorcery in Elden Ring and one player managed to kill Mohg with only three uses of it, Burgerroi’s play shows that Faith can be just as powerful.
Usually, a player wouldn’t want to risk standing so close to Malenia in case she inflicted Madness on them. However, Burgerroi explained that they managed to just tank the Madness while dealing out so much damage by wearing armor with the highest Focus stat. Burgerroi’s cheese is certainly an impressive one, but it isn’t the only time that an Elden Ring player managed to defeat Malenia quickly. One Elden Ring player even beat the boss with a weapon that looked like a pizza cutter.
Of course, it isn’t just Malenia that can be cheesed in Elden Ring, and there are plenty of other boss fights that can be made easier than they should be. However, not all cheesing attempts are guaranteed to give an Elden Ring player an easy victory. When trying to lure the Falling Star Beast off a cliff in Elden Ring, for example, one player managed to pull themselves to their death.
Elden Ring is available for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
