Unlike Elden Ring’s bosses, which require players to essentially learn the move patterns so that they can be defeated, player opponents are entirely unpredictable. Elden Ring players have been coming up with some unique and interesting ways to get rid of invaders or defeat hosts, such as one fan who dodged an invasion by impersonating one of Elden Ring’s NPCs. In regard to getting rid of an opponent before a fight can even break out, one player managed to defeat two enemies at once by attacking through a wall.

In a clip posted to Reddit, an Elden Ring invader can be seen in quite the precarious position, balancing on a ledge high above the ground. As invasions will spawn the invader near to the host, this player knew that their opponent was nearby, waiting in a spot that is difficult to reach. Rather than risk the jump to face the host in fair combat, the Elden Ring invader simply attacks through the wall, knocking both the host and another player down into the abyss, successfully completing their invasion.
The invader used the Wrath of Gold incantation in order to attack their opponents through a wall. According to Elden Ring players, the Rejection incantation would’ve given the invader a similar result at the cost of less faith. Rejection does not deal much damage, but it does push back large groups of enemies. For getting around Elden Ring’s open-world without getting swarmed, and apparently pushing opponents off ledges, both the Wrath of Gold and Rejection incantations can prove incredibly useful. Rejection is even regarded as one of the best low-cost incantations in Elden Ring.
While this invasion may have ended abruptly, most PvP moments in Elden Ring involve players dueling to the death. When a host doesn’t have backup in the form of another player or two, this can result in some truly epic duels. One pair of Elden Ring players managed to end their fight in the most poetic way possible, dealing lethal damage to each other at exactly the same time. While pushing an opponent off a ledge may not have the same emotional weight, it at least lets players know not every invasion has to end in a drawn-out fight.
Elden Ring is available now for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
