Malenia, Blade of Miquella is an optional boss that players can find at the bottom of Miquella’s Haligtree, a well-hidden area that takes a bit of effort to discover. As for why this battle is so difficult, several contributing factors can be pointed out. Malenia has two full health bars, for instance, with her second phase introducing some deadly Scarlet Rot attacks to the mix. Whenever she damages the player, she steals their health, and the Waterfowl Dance requires some stellar dodging skills to survive.

Despite all the things Malenia can throw at her opponents, Reddit user scotty2socks and their co-op companion were victorious over Miquella’s protector. The clip begins with scotty2socks landing the final blow on the boss, running over to their friend as Malenia fades away. They begin teabagging on the floor before searching the gesture menu for the most appropriate way to celebrate. They landed on Rapture, an emote that their co-op partner triggered at the exact same time.
Seeing the two emote together like this is hugely satisfying, as it is good proof of how in sync they were during and after the battle. However, while it is fun to see emotes used at the exact same time after such an intense battle, what makes the moment more special is that it features the Rapture emote specifically. The equivalent of the Praise the Sun pose in Elden Ring, the “Sun Bros” that worship Solaire of Astora have been using Rapture to carry on his legacy and unique mannerisms. The fact that both players used it highlights a shared love for FromSoftware that goes back to Dark Souls.
The Elden Ring community clearly got a kick out of seeing the two players Praising the Sun together, as the post has received over 2,600 upvotes in the time since it was first posted. In the comments section, DarkOriole4 pondered whether the emote use was perfectly synced for the co-op partner too, or if a bit of lag showed them using it at a different time. Regardless, the timing was perfect on scotty2socks’ end, making for a stellar clip.
Considering that there have been plenty of Elden Ring co-op fails shared online, it is nice to see a team-up go so well every once in a while. For those that like to Praise the Sun when playing online, it is hard to find a better outcome than this.
Elden Ring is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
