Since its release, Elden Ring fans have discovered several hidden details that shed light on the world’s backstory and lore. While some offer a reasonable explanation for in-game events, others are simply theories and guesswork. As an example, an Elden Ring player pointed out that Godrick has an extra finger on one hand. Now, another gamer shares a neat detail about one of the most well-known enemy types in Elden Ring.

A Reddit user named Groomgrim has shared an image of a Tree Sentinel in Elden Ring and has highlighted a chain tied around his waist. Groomgrim mentions that Tree Sentinels chain themselves to their horses, which may be a possible reason they don’t dismount upon taking significant damage. Coincidentally, another Reddit user made a post asking why it’s possible to dismount the Night’s Cavalry boss and not Tree Sentinels in Elden RIng. That post was made by a player named Fun-Hedgehog1526, and some fans in the comments do refer to this new one for a plausible explanation.

Apart from that, most of the comments section is filled with jokes about Tree Sentinels wearing seatbelts in Elden Ring. Some players also discuss the implications behind the areas they are guarding, while one user wants to be chained to their horse during the fight against the Fire Giant.

Gamers will come across several Tree Sentinels throughout their Elden Ring playthrough. One of them is right next to the starting Site of Grace in the opening area of Limgrave, although players are probably not equipped well enough to win the fight. Despite its difficulty, a few users decided to fight the first Tree Sentinel boss with just starting equipment, and some even managed to defeat him.

Even though Elden Ring has been out for several months now, FromSoftware has not shared any news about DLC plans for the game. Some dataminers have leaked details that may point to the bosses and areas in Elden Ring’s DLC, but fans will have to wait for a full announcement for more concrete information.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
