The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise was an unexpected success with surprising staying power and is now expecting both a Seth Rogen movie reboot and a new game in the near future. With this in mind, it may not be a surprise that players might want to play as one of the Ninja Turtles in a fantasy action game. However, the Ninja Turtles have such bizarre but distinct designs that fans may have trouble believing the Elden Ring character creator could make them.

Elden Ring’s Hilarious Ninja Turtle Character in Action

Redditor CountingCats shared a short, one-minute-long video showcasing their recreation of a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles character. The character features bright green skin, a round face, what seem to be mask-shaped red markings over the eyes, and a large turtle shell worn on the back. CountingCats recorded the character running around, fighting several Elden Ring enemies - including a dragon - and even interacting with one of the game’s tortoises. All the while the iconic opening theme to the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV show plays in the background.

According to the classic Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles designs, the turtles should have different mask colors and distinct weapons. However, this character has a red mask like Raphael and a katana like Leonardo, making it unclear which turtle it is supposed to be. The fan-created design also features a loose wrap worn around the character’s hips, which no version of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have sported. It’s likely a compromise so that the Elden Ring character creator would interpret the character as properly dressed.

This isn’t the first time Elden Ring fans have tried recreating characters from other franchises, but it may be one of the most extreme designs they managed to capture. Fans may find that watching this recreated Ninja Turtle hurtle through the air, backstab foes, and chug potions feels strangely fitting. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles may have outlandish designs, but they look surprisingly natural in the twisted fantasy world of Elden Ring.

Elden Ring is available now for PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S.
