Reddit user Branman1234 has uploaded a brief video to the Elder Scrolls forum, which shows what they’ve currently built in Minecraft. Specifically, the camera pan over the project shows their rendition of Fort Nikel from Oblivion. In the 2006 RPG, the ruined fort is located west of the Imperial City, not far from the Wamnet Inn. The user has done a great job of showing the dilapidation of the building, even putting in the entrance door and the lit fire just outside it.

Speaking of Oblivion’s main city, another Minecraft user actually managed to recreate the Imperial City, complete with the distinctive White-Gold Tower that serves as the locale’s centerpiece. Of course, for fans of this Elder Scrolls entry, this is easily one of the most famous places to visit, where much of the main storyline takes place. However, Branman1234’s build shows that there is so much more to discover in Cyrodiil, and it also shows that there are many talented people out there who are showing their love of both Minecraft and the epic RPG franchise.

It’s no secret that The Elder Scrolls games have some incredible settings, so it’s not surprising that fans are more than keen to reconstruct them using 1x1 blocks. From Tamriel to Hammerfell and High Rock to Morrowind, each game in the series has its own unique look. The fact that the games are often huge in size only serves as a reminder that there is so much to see and so many iconic buildings, towns, and other structures to inspire players.

It also restates the point that Minecraft is a game with near infinite replayability, being an outlet for boundless creativity within the fan base. Oblivion’s Fort Nikel may not be the most famous location in all of the Elder Scrolls games, but it was evidently worth someone taking the time to recreate it, and it will be interesting to see which other lesser-known areas of the epic RPG franchise will get the Minecraft treatment.
